Biography

Bill Summers

Photographer, Videographer, Media Consultant, Website/Developer

From early childhood I became interested in Photography and I have made it a life long pursuit.

I received my first camera at the age of 10, I will never forget the day I purchased my “Kodak Brownie Hawk Eye 127” (which cost me $5.50), or the    day that I forgot and left it inside of a telephone booth at the soda fountain. After getting over the heartbreak, I moved on and purchased my second camera which I have to this day.

In my continued pursuit of Photography, I have traveled and photographed many of the states in the United States, countries in Europe, South America and the Caribbean Islands.

I specialize in Creative Imaging, Photographing Landscapes, Nature and Children all of these are natural and not posed. During a discussion about art     a colleague shared with me a philosophy she developed as a young Art student learning to paint “even the grass  and the trees taught me somethings.” This person had just put into words something that I already practiced during my career as a Photographer. I feel that Communication (spoken or unspoken) between the subject and the Artist is extremely important. I therefore spend many hours studying nature and learning how to capture a 3-Dimensional image in a 2-Dimensional format: or in the case of Children just being ready to capture the image on a moment’s notice.

“The eyes are the windows to the heart”, make it so and you will create Art from your heart. Do you recognize yourself?

As the Director of the City College of New York’s Television and Media Production Center from 1995 to 2011, I won many Awards as a Producer/Director of Educational TV Programs.

Smaller cameras and the new digital formats has allowed me the opportunity to mix and blend the visual mediums of Photography,Videography and the Internet into the perfect tools for communicating in today’s world.

My clients include Commercial & Advertising Agencies, Magazine Publishers and Website Developers.
